Default Beware of ebay turbos called T04E .48 A/R

There is nothing wrong (other than the usual) with these turbos that I've seen, but I ordered one called: "T3/T4 T04E .48 A/R 50 trim turbine 5 bolt flange turbo" and it showed up with dimensions way off of what was listed in the description. All the listings say the dimensions of the compressor are 48.5/64mm. The first one I received actually measured at 43.2/60.4mm so I requested a refund and sent it back.

I'm writing this because I went ahead with my turbo build using the usual T04E .63 A/R Turbo I had laying around. It has a compressor sized at 50.5/76mm and found that while that bitch scoots at high RPM, it just is laggy as **** in the city. I wanted something slightly smaller, so I found a completely different vendor with different photos and with a location in a different city. What turbo shows up? The same damn sized turbo. 43mm compressor inducer.

Just about all of the T04E .63 AR turbos have almost the exact same dimension as the description and honestly, I've never had any issues with ebay listings being that consistently far off.

Unless anyone here has any ideas for a budget T3 flanged turbo with a compressor inducer size of around 48MM and a turbine exducer of a similar size, I'll be forced to buy that really sexy looking Garrett GT2860RS with that V band housing. And I was trying not to blow up my old 200,000 mile MSM engine until I get a new one built and ready to go in.

Just for science and when I want to look this up in the future, the complete dims are as follows:

Compressor:
Stated: 48.8/64
Actual:
IND: 43.2
EXD: 60.4

Turbine:
Stated: 59.5/48.9
Actual:
IND:62.4
EXD:45.8

You should post up a screen grab of the ad/seller and other details. I've posted a bunch of eBay/chingchongmeowmeow turbo info in the MKTurbo thread.

That's about the same size as a 2860
