Default Car Chuggs, in a bad way

my '91 1.6L was thought to have an AFM as it would kinda start but idle rough and die. i bought an AFM for a guy on the site (said it worked before he took it out). tried to start it and now the car chuggs. chugg for about 5-10 sec. below 1k rpm then die. the only way to even keep it chugging is to hold the throttle down. that even stopped working and then the only way to keep it from chugging was to keep cranking the ignition. it did this the last time i had my original AFM in. im begining to think its not the AFM. even tried starting without AFM plugged in, also i jumped the GND-F/P and also GND-TEN and it did the same thing.

any thoughts?

the AFM is really it. i started it when i still had the "bad" AFM in it (i had to turn the spring so that the flapper was allitlle open at idle) and let it run for a bit, even reved it, then turned it off. now the car hates me. im really stumped. the exhaust smells like its getting fuel. its not a lack of electricity, i hooked up jumper cables and tried to start it and nothing.

When you jump FP to Gnd, can you hear fuel running?

What is your set up?

take a vid, makes it so much easier for us to hear/see what's going on.
