Quick question for those in the know.

I have a build thread going in the media section(99, 1.8L) and I was wondering if 250whp is doable on a 2854? Before I install the engine, I may upgrade to a larger turbo if I will have difficulty hitting that #.

Assume that I will have adequate fueling and timing control and at least a full 2.5in exhaust.

Thanks!

That number shouldn't be a problem at all assuming you don't have a restrictive exhaust.

I saw a 1.6 do about 220whp with said turbo. You can look up Tyson87 (I think) older set up and dyno runs. However, I saw a 2870 do +250whp. This was the older set up of Levnubhin. Both these number were obtained in a Mustang dyno and were not corrected IIRC.

I haven't dyno my set up which is a 99 stock motor with a 2870 at 15psi, but I should be in the neighborhood of your power goal. If you're a happy with seeing full song after 3.5 - 4k rpm the 2870 is a good option with good head room if you're motor is built.

I was hoping to see 250whp by 15 psi on the 2854. I know that the power increase going from 8 psi to 11 psi was impressive, I'm wondering where peak efficiency is on this guy?

I'd say even if you did hit 250, it would be completely tapped out at that point.
So I'd definitely go bigger.
