Clocking a 16g Turbo
So you want to clock your 16g turbo
Well this is for those of you who realize by now that your turbo is set up all wrong with relation to the drain and feed of oil into the turbo.
This simple walk through will make this as pain free as possible so sit back and enjoy. This will be breif and painless and possible.
First take a 10 mm ratchet and or wrench to loosen the clamp that holds the center section to the turbine housing.
Remove the clamp and the turbo should come apart into 2 peices.
The turbine housing has a bit of a metal sticking out of it, that goes into the center section as seen in this picture:
File or cut this pertrubding peice of metal off so that you can swivel the turbo around on its axis.
Now that the hot side is fixed the compressor side needs to be adressed.
First remove the C clip holding the compressor housing to the CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly):
I suggest a small needle nose pliers or some sort of bent nose fine point pliers and a extra set of hands to get this done. The clip is usually pretty tough, and it will take a good bit of force to compress it and remove it.
Once the clip is out tap the compressor housing forward and it should pop off. Once apart remove the oring from the compressor side of the center section carefully. It will be reused.
Now you need to take all three components and mock them into place where you would like them in a way that the Wastegate still lines up and the oil feed and drain are in the up and down positions respectively. Once this is done. Note the relation of the indexing mark of the compressor housing onto the backing of the Center Section with Whiteout, chalk, nailpolish, etc.
Here is the moment of bravery. Mark where the indexing dowel should hit and remove enough of the backing so that the indexing mark will clear the backing on the center section.
This stuff is sintered metal so dont apply to much force abit of work with a bench grinder or dremmel tool to get the rough outline and then a few test fits later and you should have a rather nice hole.
Now that everything is finished test fit the center section to the compressor without the oring in place and, check to see if the assembly still lines up with the turbine housing. If it does, then proceed to assemble the compressor, and center section with the oring in place.
If you screwed up then dont panic i will tell you how to fix it later. Before final assembly make sure the C clip is in place to be installed because once you get the center section in the way you wont be able to put it in place. This will take abit of elbow grease and or a few clamps to get everything to seat remember the metal of the backing isn't the toughest.. So dont break it! With excessive force. No BFH action!!!!
If it all seats properly then proceed to put the oring in place.
Compress and install the C clip, this might take several compressions/releases before it seats properly. Once it is all seated properly then you may proceed to install the turbine housing and then the WG etc and use your now functional 16g turbo.
OK now if you screwed up first off dont panic. This is fixable the compressor might see 15-16 psig this is no big problem first if you screwed up and put the relief cut in the wrong place then just leave that be and, make the releif cut in the right place. Once you get it all fixed and cut right then go buy some RTV black or grey make sure it is high heat and oil resistant is a pluss as well. Slather it all over the back of the compressor backing, and install the C clip. Folow the C clip with more RTV then allow it to cure and install. The RTV will seal the compressor and the C clip will hold the RTV in place while under boost etc so you dont blow it out.

Ok guys lemme know via Pm or post what you dont get and i will modifiy the post to make it easier to understand. this is a work in progress. Also miata90 just brought to my attention that the 16g supplied with his ebay kit had no indexing marks etc in that case this is even easier. just unclamp and twist.
