Coolant-to-Turbo routing q

Coolant-to-Turbo routing q
So, I've got a '94 block. I'd like to take coolant from the port in the block to the turbo.
Where do I put the other hose? If I understand how it works right, I would put the other hose to the thermostat neck, and not the water return from the radiator.
But someone please correct me and tell me at length why I'm an idiot if I'm wrong. Seriously.

Searching is god, although that needed a bit of odd search terms to turn up, so hopefully this will make it easier in the future to find.
