Default Is this Corksport manifold w/IHI turbo's?

He said no cracks on manifold, its for 1.8, one turbo has like 6 hours on it, turbo on the manifold has no shaft play.. $300

What do ya'll think?.. I wasn't planning to turbo but this seems pretty cheap..

You know, it's interesting. The turbine housing actually looks similar to the IHI housing in the MSM. It even looks like it has the boss on the bottom that bolts to the turbo support bracket and the casting looks similar. But everything else looks wrong to me.

For starters, isn't the whole setup backwards? I see the the turbo outlet elbow is going backwards correctly, but it just seems *** backwards to do that and then have the compressor on the backside of the engine bay.

Nice manifold design though.

He said it was for the 323 motor or something but that it should fit a Miata..

Then the manifold seems cool, but there's no way you'd be able to run that turbo setup on a Left Hand Drive car. The exhaust would be going straight through the steering shaft.

guys I wasn't planning on turbocharging my car, and know nothing about it, but I got this here manifold that sorta looks like it might fit my car, so I'm gonna turbocharge my car.

What could possibly go wrong here?

But that's all you need...just a turbo and manifold. Everything will bolt right up they said, it'll run great they said.

This is not a Miata setup. That's a Familia GTX setup. Stock. Corksport has nothing to do with it besides probably importing it.

That's why it looks backwards.

it's an oem manifold that will fit on a 1.6L miata...but nothing else will.

6 hours on the turbo is lol. you really believe that?

Genuinely asking, here:

What makes you think it's not for a BP?

Well to your credit, they ARE both GTXs, just only one was available in the states.

1.6 Familia/323 GTX was BF chassis, 1.8 Familia GTX was BG chassis and not brought here, which is the biggest reason Corksport was mentioned i'd guess. They used to import a lot of BP26 intake and exhaust manifolds.

not that it matters, but

that is a vj11 turbo with the turbine housing inlet flange holes enlarged to mate to the bp26 mani. Basically the same as the stock gtx vj20 in size, except for the turbine housing being a larger a/r, and the compressor outlet is a hose connection instead of flanged.

Just thought I'd point that out.

No way that manifold works in a Miata. Besides putting the turbo into the engine mount it only fits with the turbo exhaust pointing forward. It’s made to fit in a car with a transverse mounted engine.

I have a lot of personal experiance with the IHI turbos. The VJ6/12/13/ or VJ14 turbo that came on the 1.6lGTX is good on a 1.6l makes rapid boost on those but a little limited on top end power. VJ20 turbo that came on the 1.8l BG GTX is a good turbo on a 1.8l bouth like a T28 with maybe better spool. The VJ11 that came on the 626/Probe GT is a complete dog on 1.6 or 1.8l engines it boosts dog slow and still won’t make good power at any boost it sucks on anything but the 2.2l it came off of and there it is only tolerable feels like an oversize tirbine with a small compressor or somthing. The VJ23 that came on the GTR version of the BP GTX is actually a bigger turbo than my GT3071R on my 2.0L and seems quite comparable might boost a little slower but can make really big power like 400hp or more.
