Default Damn integrated wastegates

How in the hell do i find out how many pounds my WG is? I have a 16g if that helps. I figured shooting compressed air somewhere would do the trick but can't figure it out

bicycle pump i used just to make sure it was working. some have built in gauge or you can get creative and plumb your boost gauge in line with it

you just pumped it into the little hollow arm doomathingy?

i tried that with my air compressor and the air blew out where the rod comes out of the large housing

huh? i connected a rubber hose to the actuator where the boost line would typically go. then pumped

air compressor is way too much pressure. you might have blown the diaphragm now.

lol, youre an airhead.

Get a new actuator. By default they are usually 6 - 8 psi.

Edit: quick google search proves 8 psi.

well i was really hoping something else on this turbo wasn't broken, last time a buy a turbo from a certain member on this board, first the rebuild and now this

testing the wastegate actuator with high pressure isn't a good idea. you can ruin a perfectly good one like that

You could have blown out the actuator yourself using too much air pressure. Might have been good in the first place. You're only supposed to test them that way if you can regulate the pressure at the nozzle so yo can adjust it between 3- 10 psi or whatever you like to know exactly what pressure will open it all the way.

well i had it set at 3 psi, but i wouldn't put it past me to screw it up either
