Default First data log with HYDRA EBC

I finally moved into the electronic boost control part of my FM II install and am logging some data. I feel I am pretty good with the mechanical bits, but the electronic tuning is going to take some getting used to. So, below is a screenshot of one of my runs. Please look at it and let me know if I am about to blow anything up.

Also, please forgive my ignorance, but I can't find anything on the site that is a "tuning 101" or something like that. There must be a method to this madness.

Thanks for helping!

look like you need to tune the curve more. I dunno how the Link/Hydra control boost, but it looks like you are slowly closing the solenoid closed, which in turn is giving you a linear boost rise.

I doubt that turbo spools that slow, because it doesn't look like you hit your target, 10psi, until close to redline.

you want to keep the solenoid closed as long as possible, assuming a 2560, that should be till about 3500RPM, then you should have your target DC or kPa target set at around 4000RPM, as close to the earliest RPM of your boost target. Then you'll tune the rest of the RPMs to keep it flat.

It also looks like you start getting a little lean towards redline.

I agree with Scott. Where's the wastegate data line?

So FM says I need to start upping the values in the pwm map2 to get the solenoid to open sooner. Below is what mine looks like. Any ideas on what the curve should look like when finished? Should I just increase the values for the lower duty cycles and leave the higher ones where they are? I wish I could find some sort of methodology for doing this sort of tuning...

you need to put HYDRA in the title to get more attention from those familiar with EBC on the hydra

Thanks! I hope to see if I can play with the PWM map this afternoon and post some results.

Well I played with the PWM settings to the point where I don't think this is the problem. I had an issue with the wastegate that came with the FM kit where it was overboosting and I couldn't lengthen the rod enough so it wasn't a problem. It hit me today that the manual said not to remove all preload or it would build boost very slow. So I am going to try tightening up that rod a bit and see what it does.

wow, that looks great. That is EXACTLY the boost profile I am looking for.
