DSM Manifold
Hey so I came across a thread in the honda intake were the B ser manifold ports match up and just need to cut the flange/reweld a 1.8 flange on.
Question is what about the exhaust ports? Do those match up? Also came across that a DSM 1G intake manifold is close, again what about the exhaust side.
I really need is specs of exhaust ports for a 1.8 94-97 and wanna see how close a DSM manifold would work.
May flame this thread and say just get a FM or begi manifold and call it day. However can get both these manifolds for next to nothing and a flange isn't to much and would be in total half the cost of a new FM/Begi manifold.

I was the one who posted that pic of the intake gaskets overlayed. I will see if my buddy can provide me with a exhaust gasket or something.

I cannot fathom why you would try to make a DSM manifold work, vs. just buying weld-ells and building a simple log manifold. We use Honda IMs because intake manifolds are very hard to design (because you must evenly distribute air) and difficult to build from component parts. Exhaust manifolds are not at all hard to design, and even easier to build from component parts.

I actually looked into this for my 1.6 a couple weeks ago. There's no good Miata manifold on the market for a TD04/05 Mitsu flanged turbo without going custom, but Forced Performance makes a fantastic one for DSMs that flows great and is relatively inexpensive. So I measured.
However, at least on a 1.6, there's about 1.5" difference center to center from #1 ex port to #4, so yeah not really going to work at all at least for me. IDK what the 1.8 measures but it's probably still a ways off.

Some people obviously don't value their time and would rather dick around with this nonsense for weeks rather than spend a couple hundred on weld els.
But its okay I know you just like to sit on here and ragequit.

yes, it is from here NB 1.8 MX5 MIATA exhaust flange by kadernik - 3D Warehouse
come to think of it there could be a thread to post various flange drawings?

FWIW, I measured the DSM flange again today and it was about 1/4" off center to center from port #1 to #4 using the dimensions William posted above. So not that far off for a 1.8. Still not worth it given the decent selection of manifolds available for a 1.8 though.

I ******* hate to bump a 3 year old thread but...
I have this glorious 16g sitting in a cabinet... I would seriously like to make this bastard work on a MSM engine. All I can find on ebay is ******* 1.6l manifolds.
Does anyone make a DSM/Galant VR4/Early Evo flanged td05 style manifold for the BP engine?
