Dual Feed fuel rail, yes another damn thread on it

Many of the threads that came up during my search were 4 years old.

95 Miata, Stock 1.8,200-215whp goal, 650cc FIC injectors, Walbro 190HP, MS3. setting things up for track days

Seems like most DIY dual feed the stock rail just because why not ? its cheap and easy and may fix a problem that may or may not exist

So whos running dual feed rails these days ? If the general consensus is that they are needed ill drill/tap my rail. But right now Im more worried about fuel leaks and engine fires so if the stock rail is fine for my setup ill stick with it.

this. dont bother; youre causing a problem for a fix that did exist.

:squint: Wut?

He's saying there's no need for it. He's right. But if it makes you sleep at night better, go for it.

Brainy? I know he's right - the English he chooses to use sometimes, however, breaks my brain.

18psi 03-26-2013 09:22 AM

That's cause he's French

lolol ilu don't ban me

Braineack 03-26-2013 09:27 AM

it's called being clever.

it was suggested that the dual feed might "fix a problem that may or may not exist"

I'm saying it will cause a problem where a fix did exist. It was a play on the words the OP used. try reading and understanding.

18psi 03-26-2013 09:29 AM

you should write him a poem

blaen loves poems

18psi 03-26-2013 09:32 AM

But for rizzle: you're adding an additional potential failure/leak point to a system tested to distribute to all cylinders equally and the only info I can find about "not-even distribution between cylinders" is posted by those trying to sell dual feed rails.

Everyone with a Brain (get it? hehe) knows our cyl 4 issues are from uneven cooling not uneven fueling. At least in most cases.

Brainy, I don't know how you do it, but your being clever seems to entail phrases that should come from an Indian call center, and not someone with a degree ;)

Braineack 03-26-2013 10:14 AM

omfg, it was a play on the OP's words; it wasnt meant to sound like proper english. It was meant to sound exactly like it sounded.

Otherwise I would have wrote:

Exactly. You're contiplating a fix to a problem that doesn't exist.

Resist we much.

I can't tell if you want to engage in debate or what here, Brainy. I intended for light-hearted ribbing, not OMGWTFLET'S DO LITERARY ANALYSIS OF TEH BRAINZ!

Braineack 03-26-2013 10:19 AM

Almost everything I post is sarcasm, satire, or an inside joke you don't get.

18psi 03-26-2013 10:25 AM

most inside jokes he posts are with himself, so only he gets em......

Braineack 03-26-2013 10:38 AM

I was going to paint that.

All joking aside, at what point or hp level does the stock fuel rail become insufficient for fuel delivery?

18psi 03-26-2013 12:03 PM

I know for sure Andrew posted about this a handful of times, but forget which thread.

I wanna guess 400 on pump or 350 on e85 or something like that.

Don't quote me on that lol, it was probably just a guess.

thenuge26 03-26-2013 12:56 PM

That's around the number I vaguely remember, IIRC all the stock fueling components (minus injectors of course) are good up to ~400whp.

Unless you are Faefae and run out of fuel at 400whp with a walboro 255 and ID1000s.

Braineack 03-26-2013 12:58 PM

that assumes he hit 400rwhp.
