4.3 + 5 speed is common in csp cars. Its too slow for SSM unless you rev to 9k.

Where did you pick up the X9 6uls?

There's a set for sale right now in the south east with a set of 225 half used rivals on them for $700.

I understand. I keep forgetting that anything but a stock engine puts me in ssm, and I'm bored with the 103 hp.

well then, I have an extra 500 or so for a set of rods. and a super small BB turbo.

Or the supercharger....aww geeeeze.

Buy the rods and rebuild your motor. (only if you're going to rebuild it anyway... at your boost levels, stock motor is fine...) Buy a used little turbo and manifold setup, they pop up from time to time. If you don't like it, sell it for what you paid. the engine management and rods are useful no matter what your FI.

With the price if rods, youd be absolutely silly to build a performance motor on stock rods. Silly.

With stock '95 pistons (9:1) and forged rods you could run the EFR. 949 has forged rods for <$400.

You can also get forged rods off ebay for 250 shipped that have arp hardware. They are very strong too. Many members have used the with success.

I'd say get a log, 2554, have fun.

I've done the ebay rod bit. They are every bit as good as the m-tuned or whatever. Took mine to the machine shop and had them balanced and the machinist couldn't tell the difference between my rods and a set of manley rods he had.

When I built my motor I went all out. If I did it again I'd just replace my rods maybe some arp head studs and call it a day.

which ebay seller did you get them from ?

I only ask cause I'm kinda sorta keeping a list of "known good" ebay rod sellers, even though they probably all come from the same shop in china.
