Hey borka,

Do you have a build thread for your EFR? I like to look at it and get some reference for some of the obsoletes and stuff may need to order. Trying to order the right parts from the start.

Thanks

No build thread, I just read a bunch of other peoples engine build threads and watched the car passion channel for reference.

Here are my specs
2002 vvt 1.8 car
Ms3
Ff640 injectors
Fm1 clutch
94 block, honed cylinders, 94 pistons, new rings, acl race bearings, 99 mazda head gasket w/reroute
Ebay maxpeedingrods rods w/arp hardware
Untouched oem vvt head, stock head bolts, stock oil pump and dampener.
Pcv and breather to vta catch can
Cxracing intercooler
Efr6258, inconel studs w/resbond
Kraken manifold/dp/3" catless exhaust/big magnaflow muffler.
Kraken oil/water lines
FM turbo heat shield.

This is my 3rd turbo miata, but first time I built an engine. Runs great, been reliable for 2 years now and over 1 year with the efr.
On the efr I would say about 4 track days, a few autox and about 5k street miles.

I run 10psi at track and 17psi street.

Do you mind taking a picture of the water and cooling lines when you have time?

Parts still need to be picked up:

ID1000cc
MSM pro for MSM
oil and water line
Will either pick up MK manifold&DP or use the Kraken and fab my own 3in Turbo Back
Clutch - kinda undecided right now but think about supermiata or FM happy meal 2

Fab intercooler pipe

Current mods:
FM intake and intercooler
Innovate Motorsports 3918 MTX-L Plus wideband
Not installed Mishmoto radiator and fan shroud but might go with 949 racing cross flow or FM cross flow
Megan cat back

Winter plans:
I plan to source a spare motor and build the block up to the head.

Just FYI, based on what info that is going around here, the MK manifold is fine for a budget street use. However, if you are tracking the car you really need either the Kracken Manifold + downpipe or a Trackspeed setup. Welded manifolds tend to eventually fail with track use.

When I officially released an EFR setup it will be coming with a cast manifold. Same manifold I will be using in my 1.8 t3 setups, just drilled and tapped for t2 turbos. It will be cast in the US and at a price point that will make tacotaco cast manifolds a thing of the past.

Hot ****. At that price point, I'll keep that mind for local folks Miatas that don't want to spend 7k+ grand to get a turbo setup.

Keep on innovating. You are doing work of the Mazda gods.

It won't be as cheap as the tacotaco, but it will still be far cheaper then any other cast manifold on the market.

You had the exhaust built elsewhere right? It didn't come as part of the kraken hit with the big maggie, yeah?

Yeah, the kraken kit came with just manifold/dp, oil/water lines/fittings and turbo studs.

The 3" exhaust was made by a muffler shop. Nothing fancy, aliminized steel, booger welds etc... ugly, but who cares. It's under the car.
