Finally fully done =)

I finally finished, and woo hoo this thing hauls at only 5 psi! Only problem is I seem to have some compreson surge, maybe the BOV that came on the turbo is not working right?

Pictures aren't working.

BOVs aren't on turbos, they're on you charge piping. It is possible that it is not working correctly or fast enough thus causing compressor surge.

The turbo I have has a built in BOV.. sorta odd. Im guessing the spring rate is too high.. guess ill have to rig up my bosch.

Yeah the pictures still don't work. Is it that weird mercedes turbo?

Braineack 10-29-2007 09:19 PM

pictures only work if you're a member of tirstaturnersi.com or whever they are linked from. try tinypic.com for us please.

cardriverx 10-29-2007 09:53 PM

Fixed.

yes, its the weird mercadies turbo. It works great though.

yes, there is no air filter currently. Im working on that.

yes, the vaccum lines are alittle messy at the moment.

=)

I'm sorry to tell you, but once you turbo you're never done. You'll want to add something in t-minus 2 weeks.

That's an interesting looking turbo there.

Good luck on finding an air filter that'll fit right there.

Your radiator looks like it's about to DIE.

Do you have any band-aid mods done yet? Aka Bipes, O2 clamp?

cardriverx 10-30-2007 07:53 AM

bipes, o2 clamp, vortec riseing rate FPR. Yeah, finding a place to mount the air filter will be intresting... and hey, the radiator works so im not complaining lol.

You might wanna get some heatshielding on those heater hoses and brake master cylinder. Thumbs up for using t-bolt clamps from the start. As far as the air filter you might wanna try something like this- https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo-discussion-14/afm-locations-problem-13713/

Where did you buys the charge pipes, and do you think you can take some pics from behind the radiator to show how you routed it.

Thanks.

My charge pipes are a combo of stripes pipes and BEGI pipes.

I presume your AFM works OK upside down? I had looked at mounting mine sideways, will that work?

works fine.

And guys, it seems that when im at full boost and above 6750 rpm, the blow off valve works. So it must be too stiff a spring... I guess ill take it apart.
