Full Race Inconel Studs
Has anyone tried the fullrace.com Inconel stud kits, either the 8mm or 10mm ones? At $50 it looks like a good deal for inconel studs.

A286 is not Inconel, the threads are cut and not rolled like TSEs, and there is no locking hardware. Do it once, do it right, do it white with TSE.

That is what I was wondering as well. A286 is not an alloy I am familiar with. My only option is the FM 8mm kit then, the MSM flanges do not have enough room to drill out to 10mm.

A286 is just another iron-nickel superalloy so it's properties should be similar to inconel. In fact I think that some of the original discussions about different stud materials on here focused on A286

DO it with TSE - you WON'T regret it! Had my first nut-wrenching-free track day after installing TSE's kit - freakin awesome not having to fuck with low boost, broken studs, and hot cracked manifolds (props to ARTech there on the manifold)

TSE is a pretty cool company. They let Jerry Sandusky crash at the house when he's in-town.

A286 is not a "superalloy" afaik, it's a specific type of stainless steel used for high temp applications.

It's used for aerospace fasteners, I know that much. If I still worked at my old job, I'd even be able to tell you about the properties...if it weren't confidential. They're tested in house so it was proprietary.

Inconel is a trade name like Klenex or Teflon. A286 is not Inconel and based on a quick look at the spec sheet, Inconel 718 (I think that's what FM/TSE use?) looks like a superior material for exhaust manifold studs.

At the end of the day the TSE studs are the only ones that have been tested on the track and who testing them has been stated. I am also sure Savington could get you lap times to if you asked nicely. Begi or FM has not released that info at all. |

Our alloy is indeed proprietary. It worked - BEGi and FM use a different alloy. ;)
