I think its been there for a little while, just not advertised heavily. I never payed too much attention to it since I've read Maximum Boost so many times.

I wish Corky would write an updated Maximum Boost, since some of the stuff in it I think is a bit old school and outdated. Still a great book.

He mentioned on m.net he was working on one, but it shouldve been done a while ago. Not sure if he still plans on it.

Is there some other reason besides convection for the water lines being placed as they are? Assuming coolant is actually moving through the pipes convection is negligible.
