I would need another mani for a twin scroll though, right?
The 3071 has a housing option with a twin scroll but as I recall, it's 1.06 housing. You don't want that. |
I've never seen a miata with twin scroll....anybody know of one?
|
Yes, he would want the 1.0 housing. It would probably spool like a smaller .63 housing or maybe better. Of course, with a Garrett and a twin scroll housing you will also need to plumb TWO external wastegates. Who makes the 3071 twinscroll housing? Btw if u have a 3071 in your hands you can have it upgraded by garrett to a gtx compressor wheel. Blouch has one too. Oh and SPD you will see one on my miata very soon :) |

It's a Garrett housing. |
You'll need the ---- probe gauge so you can measure how much pucker your ass creates when you drive your imaginary 400hp Miata.
|
I'm a fan of some of the Auber Instruments gauges. You can use them to monitor temperature, pressure, etc. from an electric sender. They are configurable and have alarms you can set.

Since this has transitioned into another thread I have been looking at wastegates and assuming I stick with my current setup is a tial 38mm WG big enough for my power goals? Whats the limit for that WG? I assume its the boost leveals and rates of flow?
|
My new car has one of these.

A volt meter can be really useful in the miata. Since the alternator and water pump run on the same belt, if the belt falls off/snaps you will be able to tell by your voltage level. Saved my ass on the highway one day. I was just cruising and looked down and saw my voltage below 12. Pulled over and sure enough the belt was gone.

Yay. More shit to fucking stare at instead of driving.
I destroyed two motors because radiator burst and the other from water pump death. Did not notice needle pegged until the damn pistons melted and welded themselves to the cylinder walls. This was a diesel btw |
shoulda used a sawzall

+1 for idiot lights. i dunno about you guys but for track driven cars my tiny brain is too slow to watch gauges. this setup gives 6 idiot lights and 8 sensors. i just wish it was cheeper.
Attachment 191480 aim mxl strada (which is actually street version (has crippled datalogging) |
that looks sweet

I saw this sick as fuck full color digital dash in the latest issue of modified.
could pretty much do everything you'd want. and it looked good. better than that blue piece of shit up there. |
