Default Got ripped off again........I think

I'am in the process of upgrading my Saab T-25 turbo which is maxed out now at 219whp, so I bought a used GT2560R with "low miles" so before I installed it I capped off my inlet and filled the drain with oil to see if it leaks before I installed it and found this ! ..... I'am stuck with the turbo for now so what if any are my opitions I've heard BB turbochargers can't be rebuilt ?

I'm not sure it works that way. Same reason we use a rivet to control feed pressure. Too much oil and it'll easily go past the seals.

Its leaking under "no" pressure I've never installed it in the car I just filled the drain and it started running out ? My guess is if it leaks with zero pressure it must pour out under pressure unless it needs pressure to seat ?

How much are you loosing if you bolt it up as a test mule.... for us all.

I say put it on , see if it blows oil or not. Either way you would have to replace the turbo or not. Then you know

Slap that bitch on. Even if its without downpipe connected, run pressure to it and oil flow, its supposed to drain out, not run with internal oil pressure either.

I'm pretty sure if I filled up my chra like that it would leak in the same place.

Ok guys, I'll fit it up in a few days and keep you updated. Also talked to a neighbor who builds and races RX-7's here in Va. Beach he said once installed and the turbo warms up that should stop the leak unless the seals are blown..........but because it only leaks on the compressor side he thinks the seals maybe ok.
