Like a Jake Brake? It sounds WAY cooler than that!

When I first did the install I planned on running VTA then eventually plumbing it back in. After 16 months of daily driving, I don't want to change the exhaust at all. I like VTA, YMMV.

Video doesn't give you an accurate tell, but VTA is not horrible. A guy at autox said that my car sounded like an SBC. Not sure about that.

This one is from the back, others are from inside the car.

WG dump to Atmosphere can lead to over boost. Over boost leans to leaky oil pan (due to hole from rods). I have had a few customers report that back to me. It would happen on those cars that did not have adequate boost control.

Are you talking about boost creep?

Why would the wastegate dumping to atmosphere lead to over boosting? The more flow through the wastegate, the more stable boost should be.

Of course not nearly as stable as when you dump the W/G directly into the path of the turbine outlet killing your turbine efficiency, that's the best way to avoid boost creep.

You say "on those cars that did not have adequate boost control", perhaps this is the issue and not the actual dumping of the W/G. Functionally I see very little difference between dumping and BEGI's divorced DPs that route the W/G gases in significantly after the turbine. In fact, I see no reason, performance wise, not to route back in so far downstream, however it's more complex for the DIYer. Now if you have no boost control, including not even a simple MBC/valve that keeps the gate closed during the onset of boost, then I could see how the increased exhaust flow through the W/G might make things nice, hot and efficient, leading to boost creep (boost creep, while dangerous, is just a sign your engine is working right). Now, if that's the case- and you don't want to run any boost control other than a line straight to your w/g actuator- I recommend the tried and true method of dumping the w/g right into the turbine outlet, it's not quite as effective as running on three cylinders, but it'll do.

Hey dvcn is the guy whose car I drove. It does sound cool but I could nome up with a better similar sound than that.

It sounds like a Enzo at full throttle near redline with Scarlett Johansson in the passenger seat whispering in your ear to drive faster. How's that?

Wouldn't it just be easier to run external if you wanted to dump?
