Default Help with niche turbo from Fiat/dodge/jeep 1.4L



Hello y'all I got a NA8 Miata and I just got this

Garrett GT1446GLSZ turbo for free does anyone have any experience with with turbo I would like to know it's capability in other cars they come from Fiats and dodge dart 1.4L motors

Not worth the effort and will fall on it's face in the higher RPM's, hitting 200hp will be hard.

Howdy! That’s a pretty sweet deal, getting that Garrett GT1446 for free. While I haven’t run one personally, I know it’s a turbo that originally comes on smaller displacement engines like the Fiat 500 Abarth and Dodge Dart 1.4T. It’s designed for quick spool, so it’s great for low-end torque, but it might max out around 200-220 hp, depending on the setup.

On your NA8 Miata, it could work well for a street setup with a focus on responsiveness rather than peak power. You’d want to make sure your fueling and cooling are up to snuff. Are you planning to stick with a stock engine or build it for more boost?
