Default Help...oil leak??

Well the day after I got my EGR pipe put (about 1 month ago) in I started hearing a kind of clicking noise like the noise when the lifters are lubricated enough. I only heard the noise when I was accelerating from 1000-3500 RPM. After that the noise of the engine would drain it out. I checked the oil and it was little lower than usual, but nothing really out of the ordinary. So a week ago I was going to go somewhere, I got into the car and started it and I could instantly hear the noise just at idle. So I turned off the car and checked the oil and it was extremely low. I went to autozone to get some synthetic and put in 2 quarts. It filled right up to the full level. I figured being as low as it was it would have taken at least 2.5-3 quarts. So I started driving the car around easy and I could hear the noise still.... not at idle just driving. I gave the car some high boost runs and it would only make around 5 lbs. of boost instead of the 12 that I normally run. So drove the car back easy and now it's in the garage. Any takers? I can't see any signs of oil on the ground or around the car.

is it coming out the tailpipe? look everywhere for any signs of a leak...even the intake.

After I put oil into yesterday I noticed that where my exhaust shoots out there looked to be some liquid on the ground. I thought it might be oil, but wasn't sure. The car hadn't been started for about a week before yesterday. Wasn't sure if maybe it was just water.

Start up liquid is water or gas, usually a mix. Check compression, check turbine outlet for oilyness.

Just had a compression and leak down test. Cylinder number 3 is getting alot of blow-by. I'm going to try to use some of that restore stuff and see how well it works. Eventually when I crack open the engine I'm probably going to go ahead and do pistons and rods. I asked the shop about how much it would be to replace the rings with labor and he said around 1500. Sound high?

wow $1500 is high.

to have mine built(assy/machine work) was only $1100, then again i did have the motor all torn apart already.

where was the leakage when you performed the leakdown test? out the filler cap? I assume your intake pipe / IC is full of oil as well?
