Default Holeset he221

Just recieved my Td04HL housing, and waiting on delivery of a Brand new Holeset HE221 turbo. Have been reading and watching vids on this setup on uk sites, some very good results, one respected MX5 Tuner referring to this hybrid as the Baby Borg . What I find really surprising is not alot of info on this site, as such a cost effective 380hp set up. And an easy evolution for anyone already running the td04 Subaru 3bolt flange. Any one out there ? That would like to share any Holeset he221 experience.

Something doesn't compute there. From THE ULTIMATE* HOLSET TURBO GUIDE (*= PROBABLY) - STAV-TECH

The HE211W is a slightly smaller version, the compressor map shows it’s capable of 32lb/min, ie about 320bhp, and seen them hit 25psi by 3000rpm and less even on a little 1.6ltr diesel. Most the ones I’ve seen have a 5cm turbine housing.

That dyno you linked is showing 390ish BHP at the wheels, on a standard compression NBB bottom end with just rods, a bit of headwork and a skunk inlet, on what appears to be standard UK fuel, so no E85 or similar. And a 2.5" exhaust. At 'only' 18PSI.

Dyno also appears to have been done in 4th, which would suggest it might be a 5 speed box too, not a 6 speed...

Better matched to a diesel engine.
