My thoughts exactly, shitty 1.6 diff will die at stock power. Its going to enjoy being welded so it has another reason to boom.

Goodluck with the build, Im sure when you spent such a little amount the car its not a big deal. As much as this build makes me cringe, sometimes its just fun to boost and blow it up.

Haha thanks,
To be honest I am also very impressed by the results and that the car seems to survive! And more I drive it, more I love the voodoo box. It is so simple and works so good. No hesitation at all. 10L/100km, I didnt calculate how much it is in miles/gallon but it is really good. I have another video on my facebook but I dont know how to upload it here

The whole build is super impressive. As long as you have fun it doesn't matter what people say.

The wastegate was originally settled up around 6psi or so, I just reajusted the rod until I hit around 10psi. If you have a generation which runs sequential injectors (94+ I believe, maybe 1993+) I do have a voodoo box for sale for 200$. Let me know if you want it, I am really pleased with mine!

Thanks man, this is what I think too and that is why I posted the setup here. Weirdly, we dont hear the sceptics anymore hahaha I did about 3000km with the setup, running the car at -4 degrees fahrenheit, and nothing happened yet just a lottttt of cheap fun. 314000km and its running like a charm

It's awesome that you were able to do that for $500 or less! Props to OP

After about 6 months of pure abusing use, and 6000miles later, the Blue beast is still alive and kicking asses! Who said the project wouldn't work?? I haven't had a piping popping or anything breaking even after beating it in pure cold weather all winter. So impressed of the durability of the engine, transmission, welded diff, and basically everything. The only mod I did since the last vid is replacing the stock muffler by a resonator that was laying in the garage.
Car is now running only 8-9psi (was about 10 this winter)

Glad to see its still going strong. Just curious, have you hooked up a wideband to the car yet?

I am myself amazed by how this project has been cheap for so much fun!
Went to the races last week, did 14.6 on the quarter mile but I am running on the cheapest winter tires you can get overhere so I guess it can reach high 13's with good driving and some luck

I never putted the wideband on, I am still very curious of what it would show but I can assure you that if the mixture was too lean, the car would have been dead a longgggg time ago

I would like to raise the boost to about 12psi (now only 9psi) and maybe replace the injectors and the fuel pump. I can find all this good stuff in a scrapyard. I am also considering building a water-methanol setup, a friend of mine built one for about 200$, used it on a stock 300zx 20psi+ for 2 years and the car still living.
More fun to come for sure

You don't believe it? lol To me 14.6 is not that good so I don't see why I would bullshit. I'll check if I still have it tho, otherwise I'll keep the next ones. I did 2 runs 15.1 and one 14.6 but I am sure I can go lower with better shifting (I tried different rpm shifting, was my first time with the miata on the drag strip)

If you're going to spend $200 on water/ meth, why not just use a decent ebay intercooler and route it in front of the radiator?
