I AM BOOSTED...but I have vibration ;)
My downpipe rubs my transmission just enough to buzz/vibrate from 2500-3000rpm. check that. It can be fixed by bracing it I'm just too lazy. Even if theres a small air gap it could probably still flex just enough to rub.
Unless you've driven a boosted car with no exhaust, you probably shouldn't be saying that pinpointing that as a very real source of big vibrations is retarded.
His PPF may very well be out of alignment. I wouldn't be able to tell if that was causing the vibrations or not in a car that didn't have any exhaust under hard acceleration.

he's said he has a downpipe, so does that mean he's driving around with an open exhaust pouring carbon monoxide into the car?
Thinking something along these lines. If the exhaust ends with the downpipe then it's no wonder he is getting some weird noises. There isn't much room for a larger downpipe to go past the transmission and if it's not connected to some sort of exhaust to hold it in place then it's gonna move around and bang into something.
My guess:
Worn/loose engine mounts allowing movement and contact. I bent the steel support on my OEM mounts when I took the car to the local drag strip. The mount was allowing lots of movement and caused the exhaust to contact the subframe/chassis when under load ... caused all sort of NHV issues.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to check your driveshaft u-joints, though I think you'd notice that in other situations.

I had a similar problem when I threw on my BEGi setup. The BEGi downpipe should allow for some wiggle room if you just loosen the downpipe to turbo bolts and move it with your hand. Try to shift it away from the transmission and see if that cures your vibration.
