Hey i'm taking off my headers and theres this wierd copper lookin pipe that goes all the way around from the back of the engine to the intake manifold. Any idea how to take this off and what it is?

EGR Pipe.

You can take it off with and adjustable crescent on this end and a 10mm deep socket on the other end.

Of course you probably need to put it back on to run the engine

no you dont just make a block off plate for the intake side and find a cap nut then egr is gone.

A quarter or nickel works on most cars as a block off.

Yep, EGR pipe. Mine's been blocked off for almost a year now, with a CEL every 2 months or so as the only result.

I copied FM's plate with some scrap steel we had laying around. Some day I'm going to get the right adapters to attach the EGR to my BEGi exhaust manifold.
