Default I'm not sure what this is, I found it under my seat.

I just bought a used 2001 Miata last weekend that came turboed with an aquamist meth kit in it. My question is that I found this http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/pdetail.php?prod=32 Under my passenger seat and I'm not sure if it is used to regulate fuel or methanol. I'm stumpped, any help would be very appreciated.

Since it is called an FMU I would assume fuel.

After reading the desctription on the site you posted it looks like its for fuel.
If you look under the car you must have an extra inline fuel pump.
I had never seen one of these till now.

its what a lot of returnless users use...never seen it on a miata, but they are very popular on other applications...should as described....I wouldn;t touch thte setting unless you have a WB or a dyno.

That's what is funny. before I found the FMU I checked under the car for fuel leaks, and saw only one pump, and it looked original OEM.

What do you want to know about it?
If you saw a pump under the car it was the external one they are talking about or you mistook the fuel filter for a pump.

chances are it's an external pump...cause you need one in order for the "FMU" to work...as well as the stock pump intank.

But isn't the pump for the methanol also a type of external fuel pump?

should be...but i think it's time to take pictures...

the aquamist, should be controlling itself and not relying on the FMU to fiddle with the pump output...

if so, then it still doesnt address fueling...cause you're still going to need more fuel...

It is a pump similar to the sureflo style pump. They would not have mounted the WI pump under the car. It is most likely in the trunk or under the hood somewhere.
Have you visited the aquamist site? Look at their pumps and then try and find one on your car. T

Oh, the aquamist pump is in the car. I guess I just have to find out where the wires that are in the FMU go to.

Not trying to be a smart ***, but if there are wires coming out of the thing you found then it is a pump. No wires = fuel filter. Rubber lines = fuel pump or filter. Smallish plastic lines = water inj pump.

^^^ Well I know that the water inj. pump is under the hood, and that the pump/filter is under the car. I just have yet to get under the car to see wether or not the pump/filter has wires coming out from under it. BTW, love the teeth!
