Default Intercooler Help

I have been trying to research and find what size and type I should get. From what I have read it seems that most of you like the cx racing intercooler and fmic on ebay. I just am unsure what size. I dont have my a/c condenser off right now but I am putting it back on. I put it on jack stands and made cut out from cardboard to match the size of the cx intercooler on ebay and it looked like it wasn't going to work. (Core Size: 22x7x2.5 inch) (Overall Size: 28x7x2.5 inch). I am thinking I should get a smaller intercooler through another company just dont know if it will work as well but I think it will fit. What do yall think? Thanks a lot for yalls help.

cxracing.com: Front Mount Intercooler 18"x12"x3", 3"Core: 11"x12"x3", 2.5" Inlet & Outlet

This is what alot of people start off with. And upgrade as needed.
I believe you cna find them for cheaper, just look around.

I did this, have A/C & P/S on my car and it fits just fine.

Thanks for the pics. So it wasn't hard mounting it? Because I had been thinking about maybe a 18" with a 11" core but I am scared it want work as well as the bigger one. I am putting it on a 92 with a greddy turbo with 7psi right now. I may run 10-12psi If I get a megasquirt later on but that will be a while if ever. Thanks

Unfortunately I've experienced a bit of time "stuck" at lower boost, so I can't advise on 18x12 vs larger.

I can say there's plenty of room to mount, and as I mentioned at one point alot of people started with this size. Since I have other issues to address, I haven't compared efficiency to the larger one's, but from what it sounds like it'll fit your needs for the time being and you can sell it later when you want to upgrade.

Search for IC mounting or whatnot, but its very simple. I just got some flat alum stock from HD, and a few bolts. The location I used was the hood latch, and had no problems at all. All very easy once its in front of you.

Thanks man. I just bought the CXRacing 18"x12"x3" and a 9 piece 2.5" CXRacing intercooler pipe. Now it's time to try to find someone who has install one that size with pics.

I was actually about to bash your lame search skills, but I couldn't even find decent pictures of stripe's kits. Here some, but none of them are installed, so it doesn't help a whole lot.

his website (mx5projects.com) is down as well, maybe someone else with better search skills or saved pictures can help. In the mean time, go to advanced search, type "stripes" and click "search titles only" there are a few good threads that may help.

I bought this Yonaka intercooler, and it fits great. I just had an aluminum plate welded to the top of it and mounted it in stock holes.
Yonaka Intercooler Type 9 18x6x2.5"
