Default Intercooler help. Im trying something different

Ive been trying to find the right size for where I want to mount my intercooler which is in the top cut out here:

So far, all that I can find that will fit there with minimal cutting is this Mr2 intercooler:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CXRac...mZ330270629408

Ideally, id like to have a 24X6x2.5 or 3 intercooler but so far, i can find anything that size without having to go custom.

The piping ive already got sorted out so im not worried there. Do any of you guys have any idea if that size intercooler exists and where i could get it? Alos, it would have to have the endtanks like the MR2 intercooler because im going to run the piping up through where the hood latch assembly once was. I alreday cut out enough of my hood so I have 2.5 inches of clearance between the hood and the frame. Any positve input would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention that im going to be making a shroud for the intercooler. I plan on boosting no more than 10-12 psi so the way i see it, the smaller intercooler would be ok.

I wondered if that was the reason behind your bigger bumper cut.... heh.

Honestly though, I think custom will be ideal. Getting a core that is close, then buying some generic endtanks to mod or having someone make up a set of endtanks.

What front end is that? I like it a lot. NA top and NB bottom? I remember a thread about that somewhere. Is that what it is?

Custom IC to fill up that (keeps comments to himself) big hole in the bumper. Anything else will look dumb.

Minus the big gaping hole in it, if you just glance at the picture, it closely resembles a 3rd gen RX-7.

That is a great looking front end, from the front. Can we have a side view to be sure?

And definately fill that hole completely with a large IC, and perhaps with the help of a pair of big driving lights.

Am I the only one wondering why he would cut a big *** hole in his bumper BEFORE finding an intercooler that would fit nice? Seems like kinda backwards thinking there to me.

LOL I was wondering what the hell the brass ***** were for untill i read why its there Thanks Ben. Now, the bumper is a C-West piece but be fore warned, its only the bottom half of the bumper that you get. I had to mold it on to the oem bumper and cut alot out of it to get it to fit right. I may do a 24x12 intercooler and fill both the bottom and the top in one shot but im not to sure yet. Part of the alure of putting the I.C. at the top is having shorter piping.

My 25x12 is flipped so the inlet/outlet are at the top for shorter piping. The piping comes in from under the headlights which are fixed.

Looks like it'd fill that hole nicely

Christ Paul. I think you win the prize for biggest front mount and shortest piping..
