I found these in a pile of old motorcycle parts in my garage, I also have the complete harness with connectors for it(about 18in long). They are denso's from a 02 gsxr 600.

The length is perfect, the connector would sit about 2mm from the valve cover when plugged in. I just need to find a spark plug with a removable cap.

Anyone ever use these before with any success?

 

depends on their input voltage and what ems you're running. i like them though, nice and small, could probably even fab a cover for the plug valley with as low pro as they are.

 

they are only 2 pin. So I don't see how they get a power, ground and input signal. Unless they ground through a mounting bolt which would not be ideal.

 

Plug would be the ground I think?

 

They need an external ignitor.

 

If you're talking about the upper tip where the plug wire/COP connects, every spark plug I've ever used has a screw on tip. Usually just takes a pair of pliers on the tip and a good twist by hand.

 

Any way of doing this and retaining the stock ecm?

Here's some pics of what it would look like. I was way off on the height, they are actually extended about an inch off the cover. With the correct plugs in there they would probably drop another 1/4in or so.

 

Not the ngk's. I think bosch makes one though.

 

Maybe not on the platinums... standard NGK's have removable tips.

I just looked at my bkr6e's sitting on the shelf and they do not appear to have screw on tops. No pliers to confirm though...
