Its beginning to look a lot like a down pipe
Looks like a good start. Keep workin on the welding and it will get better. That looks alot like FM's cast elbow. If you are working with galvanized or aluminized (looks like you are), be very careful as the fumes can cause serious health problems and in some cases death. I have heard if you start feeling bad milk is somewhat of a cure.

ive welded galvanized, and yes this is aluminized pipe (free scrap from the exhaust shop) and i just make sure i have very good ventalation, and dont weld for long periods of time.
yeah, the guy was there all by his self, it was at a midas in the getto, i was tellin the guy what i was doin, and he was like "here just grab what ever you want.. i rummaged through and picked some pieces that i guess they had fucked up, but it was all 2 and a half 16 guage. after i crabbed all i could hold in 2 hands, i slipped the guy a ten and got the hell out of there before my wheels got stolen.
what do you guys think of my flange that i made by drilling lots of small holes next to each other in a large circle pattern, then punching out the center... Gotta go what you can with what few tools you have i guess.. im gonna go in and smooth them out more with my die grinder before installation.
i have done the lots of holes thing before on a manifold. a lot of work . with a lot of grinding and more grinding and more grinding. i was pulling steel spliters from various parts of my body for weeks
Yeah, im in the process of that right now, a drum sander with a good 40 grit paper is a bit easier in the splinter department, but those carbide burr cutter sure do a quick job of it!

Looks like a good start to me. Only two things count- you have fun and it works.
