Default Junkyard IC

I've had an intercooler for a while now of the Volvo variety that is aprox. 17" high by 24" long and I forgot to measure how thick but it is cold out in the garage. Anyways when I got it from the junkyard it had oil all on the insides but was still connected to the car. Since then I have spent ample amounts of time running break cleaner through it to remove the oil until the cleaner came out the other end clear. Are there any worries with using this IC still or should I scrap it and try to find another? Oh yeah one more thing I'm thinking about ordering the megan racing header and downpipe, any bad info on these products?

If it has any visible signs of damage, you may want to presssure test it. Mine came off a know car though. Do you have shop air?

the absolute most I could think of fitting height-wise is 12-13"

the volvo intercoolers are massive... they work well, but I don't think you are going to be able to fit it.

well since I'm starting to get parts in I'll have to check on that, I've heard of one being used somewhere with "slight modification", but you guys will be the first to know it doesn't fit if that is the case. So the megan murchandise sounds good then?

I think I've seen it used once with fairly extensive repositioning of everything up front, pushing it back and down low.

I think people are avoiding discussing the Meagan Racing stuff again...there are conflicting stories. Some crack real quick, others seem to hold on ok.

You'd pretty much have to move the radiator back and mount it up in that area. IMHO, no worth the trouble with the ease/efficency/price of a smaller breed.

Megan stuff is well debated here. Some people have gotten by with it, others had problems, others needed to modify.

Oh well thanks for the info on the megan racing stuff. I'll let you know how they work out. As for the intercooler, I'll try to decide if its too much of a pain in the ****. Thanks for all of the input and I'll try to get some pics of why or why not.

where you're going to run into trouble with the volvo cooler is that inlet/outlet are facing directly into the radiator... Measure the width of the core and make sure that it's wider than the radiator, if not... you're hosed.
