Default Just got EBC, hook up questions...

So as the title says I just got my EBC solenoid from DIYAutotune. It's the one from here:
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/e...kit-p-285.html
If you scrool down on that page it shows what ports are for what, and it explains the wiring.
My question is, Why are there 3 ports if only 2 are used?
So 1 wire goes to my Megasquirt's EBC wire, and the other is a 12v. Do I run this to a switched, or constant hot 12v?
Where are you guys wiring your similar EBC solenoids to?

1. Solenoid cycles rapidly and diverts some boost to the third port which bleeds the boost off into the atmosphere and therefore wastegate does not open as farz.
2. one switched 12v source (blue plug), one signal back to MS output.
3. compressor nipple > solenoid > wastegate

So I have my EBC mounted and all plumbed up, the wires are ready to solder up. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but 1 wire goes directly to the MS, the other wire I want to have a switch between so I can manually turn EBC off and on.
Example: I want to use my rear defrost button for the switch as I no longer have rear defrost. So wire from EBC goes to the defrost switch, wire from the switch goes to a 12v "hot when igniton on" source.
So as long as the switch is between the EBC and the 12v source, instead of between EBC and MS...I'm good, right?

So what then, switch between MS and EBC?

Mint. Then all I gotta do is figure out how to set up EBC in Tuner studio. You wouldn't by any chance have a screen shot for an example, would ya?
