Your new cams brought your 1.6 from a pathetic <100whp to 105-110whp.
Meanwhile a completely stock '99 that would cost the same amount as your cams would make ~125whp.

Just read through this thread, ended up eating a whole bag of gummy worms, so much entertainment

Lol. I'm sure there are plenty out there that like talking $hit over the net. It helps then feel stronger. I also love meeting new people. Im a biker really, and I take my Hayabusa seriously. But I started with that the same way im doing this....learning by building it myself with help from great people I meet on the labusas forum. I look forwar d to sharing and hearing **** stories here also. With that said.....The new high pressure fuel rail and the light weight pulley came in today. I had to YouTube wtf those things did. Lol.

BTW- it's "oomph"...the extra go from a gain is "oomph", not woof. But something tells me you probably cannot figure out how to pronounce it.....and this is how we end up with retarded words like "rachet" and "rimz".
Actually I do. He has REAL experience, where others only have taught Knowledge. Real experience will win with me most of the time anyway. We can all read, and most of what we read is bullshit anyway. My bike claims it can go 220 mph, but my gps never got over 207.see bullshit. My car CLAIMS over 200 also but never broke One nintey something...more ****. He tried it and gave me his opinion..my question to you now is....of all the things you say are ****, how many have you tried YOURSELF. OK,so my boys at ATP insist that I do this right. I'm catching **** from some friends as far away as Japan, so I found something that should make everyone here happy. Also get some of you god complex women to even help. I'm going to build this car from EVERY cheap ebay part I can find. I WILL however get either a Megasquirt or a Haltech ECU. Fuel Injectors will either be APEX or from the RX7, suspension is yet to be decided, BUT it will be a quality and tested product. Those will not change...THEN after the car has been built and tuned, i will start swapping parts out (with exception of fuel injectors, suspension and ECU) with parts "suggested" by people on this forum and my other friends that have 7 and 8 second hondas. After each swap a run on the track and a dyno. close notes will be taken concerning times, horsepower and over all feel. Because i will be swapping parts so fast I will not be able to research quality of products UNLESS they break right away. I have already secured a second engine just in case the turbo blows through it. research aint cheap boys...now here is your chance to really learn something and not hearsay. Im about to mythbust almost every story I can find. I may even start a youtube channel

your right about the net being a place to talk ****, but if you read closely I have not done any of that, I have made no claims of superiority, I have only outlined my plans. My plans also have no claims of producing anything special, just data. Where do you see me saying i have big plans of super speed, where does it show me saying I will have a fast car? From the start I have only wanted to learn how to break down an engine and build a turbo. I have read enough to R and R and have even learned some bolt on tricks in the last few days from reading other post. i come back here now and again to see what members are helpful and what members just like to talk ****. I have nice cars, I have fun cars, fast cars, but THIS is one i get to build and play with. Thought it would be fun to **** around with it and see what happens..unlike most, im NOT on a budget, so I can do just about whatever I like, does that mean throwing in a ls1, not really. It means I get to build and test ACTUAL research and not just reading it online. I also get to share that with people whom I figured would be interested in seeing the difference between an all out Chinese ebay build vs a DIY (the right way) version. This is just Entertainment for me, the car means nothing. Im sorry if this bothers you. I have a question, and try to answer this inside yourself first...... why do you care so much? How does my build experience affect you in a negative manner? Why does my happiness make you angry? If I choose to build a gremlin with a spoiler, how does that hurt you? been reading a lot on some of the Japanese forums and trying to figure out what those guys are doing also. Decided for whatever reason to change the cams (even though people here say its a waste of time). Ordered cams from toda intake (part number 1411-b60-l12) and exhaust (part number 14121-b60-l01) for you gear heads you can look the cam sheet up.
This was something that they used and said it worked well.
Got the adjustable cam gears from OBX. Toyota used OBX at one point, so i figured i would give them a try also. pulled out the old cams, cam gear, and cleaned the Hydraulic Lifters Lash Adjusters (or whatever they are called) and replaced them with the for mentioned parts. It got dirty, took some time, about 8 hours. Most of that was trying to figure out how to put cams in without bending anything. Rotated the engine a few times by hand to make sure it was back together properly. Checked the book to reassure myself I was doing this right. Had a good time. anyway here are the picts. you can flame now

I took a motorcycle class in Australia. One thing was told to me that I wont forget, he said. "Jonathan, don't worry so much about making the slow corners fast, just the fast corners faster" After some practice, i shaved about 4 seconds off my times at Laguna because I DIDNT listen..lol so yeah, i spent my money and Im learning more every day. I love reading all the hate on this thread. Im still going to build my car. I will take some of the useful info and ignore some of you, but a few of you got my attention and require a response...First let me say that you ALL drive what has to be the lowest on the totem poll car of them all. A Mazda Miata. Just about every other car enthusiast laughs at this car. Sure it handles well and is fun to play with it, but let's be real for a minute. This car is compared to the Pontiac fiero and honda Del sol. Its a toy, and we all like to play with our toys. I don't get upset over what you say because, well, its a miata. who REALLY takes this car seriously ???? NOBODY!!! I read someone say lets ban anyone working with a 1.6. ok, but what about the v8 guys should they ban anyone keeping a 4 cylinder, or basically the car world banning the miata because.....lol, because its a miata! relax people stop crying over something so tiny. Im having fun, stop trying to **** in my coffee. I also read someone saying its not "woof" these are my words, if you understood it, good. i could have chosen a hundred others to describe it, but you seem to be limited to one, so ok use the one you like best.
Now back to my build, i didn't work on the car last weekend because I was in Mexico, going back down south to Disneyland with the kids this weekend , but will jump back on it by the 19th. Admit it guys , you keep coming back because you KNOW this car is goingt o be EPIC!! I am here for your pleasure
