Default Look at what I did today (diy IC pipe)

I am rather proud of myself as my metal working skills are not that great, or so I thought, but this came out well so I thought I would show it off. I had bought stripes template pipes a few months back but the 1.8 is a little different from the 1.6 and so I made a custom piece for the throttle inlet pipe. First picture is the piece unfinished, but almost there. second pic shows a few of the tools I used, and third pic is the piece installed. So far it is just tack welded together. sorry I forgot to snap a picture of the finished result out of the car.

Looks good, I love fabrication so any feat be it small or large is satisfying. What kind of welding did you end up using?

that was done with a lincoln 115v mig welder (no gas). Can be seen in the background of pic 1. Last major obstacle now is fabbing up the downpipe and i am debating whether or not to have a shop do it. I have a bit of time to do it, but metal work makes me frustrated as hell and i just want to smash things to little bits (and peoples heads to little bits too).

you did a good job on the ic pipe. just do the dp as well man. unless you have a hell of a shop that can do this, they usually dont do the best job

I like it. I say paint it (and all the IC pipes) krinkle black. Unless you have some pre-existing under-hood color-scheme.
