Hey, been awhile since I posted here but I figure since I still have a turbo Miata I must still be welcome. Drove the car all last summer with the boosted 6.0, didn't skip a beat. At this power level the t56 was a bit distracting so I decided a ZF 8hp70 would be better. I recently tested the zf and it's gonna be great once it is sorted. Engine is tuned on Holley terminator x for now. Estimate is around 600whp on 8 psi. Added a second wastegate to get power down to manageable level. Transmission has multiple modes, e-clutch, trans brake, rev match request, sport and sequential shifting. Also putting in an NC wheel to utilize the paddle shifters.

 

Pretty wild. How does your turbine housing not melt everything in its vicinity?

 

It's not as close as the pics make it look. I also have good venting in the hood.

 

I was considering a DCT swap for my LS but the trans pan is lower than the oil pan. Is the 8hp similar?

 

It hangs just slightly lower than the engine oil pan. I have about 4" ground clearance.

 

Late to the party, but I did not find any updates from 1RMDave. I am interested in doing this as well, also in a LS swapped car (NB) so whatever updates you can provide would be great. Also, which controller are you using, HTG?

 

also curious on any details that you can share in regards to the 8HP70 swap.

 

Anyone know if one of GM's 8L09e transmissions/LS will fit in the NC Miatas?
