Default Manifold to turbo gasket

Hi everyone,

did a quick search and couldn't find any concrete answers. Do you recommend running a manifold to turbo gasket? I have seen both with and without or with a bit of that liquid copper in between.

What do you run?

Cheers

Sand flat. Smear grease. Inhale fumes. Done.

Make sure the mating surfaces are flat and go for it. I had more trouble with a gasket than without.

I've never had a single issue with a the single layer solid metal gaskets, even on turbo v8 stuff well over 1000whp. The composite gaskets belong in the trash. I've never seen a need to run copper gasket maker on the turbo flange. I know some drag race guys that that only run copper RTV for quick servicing.

Machined flat, layer of never seize, inconel studs , and grade 8 hardware. No problems so far. Did have a gasket fail before that.
