word..... just do an EBC..... profec b's are supposedly easy to tune. I bought myself an AVC-R because my buddy had great sucess on his eclipse with one.
actually I bought 2 of them because the first one was fried for some reason. and the 2nd hasn't shown up yet. I'll post a review when I get it working.

Most? You mean like all the Honda Drag cars that need consistency? I don't think so dude. That a huge blanket statement that you or anyone else are incapable of backing up. Just because certain circles of Evo and Supra guys are gung ho Hallman doesn't mean anything. The truth is that most people(not saying guys here who are for the most part smarter than the norm) give up on their EBCs since they are beyond a lot of peoples ability to tune properly. They assume You wire it up and turn the **** to the boost you want and are done. It doesn't work that way. Then you see it up for sale a few weeks later with the owner singing praises of the MBC since he was capable of using it.
Besides...who the **** has time to get out of the car to turn the boost up? When I shift into 3rd and need to go from 300 whp to 400 whp I need to do it right then.
If you like MBCs just say you like and prefer them.

To each his own.

There's nothing wrong with either solution, but which one is right for you depends on the rest of your setup:
Simply dialing up the boost with an MBC or EBC without tuning for that next level isn't the smartest thing. If you're running standalone/piggyback that will switch maps when you dial in a few more psi, then EBC makes sense. But with an AFPR/Bipes setup like a lot of us have, "dialing up the boost" either MBC or EBC on the fly sounds like a good way to hurt your motor eventually. Even with WB and software to datalog your "high" boost tune, then dialing it down lower for everyday driving makes less sense than just using less throttle when you want the car to be slower.
Right now, I've got a good 12psi tune with my $15 eBay MBC making 190whp with as flat a AF curve as you could hope with an AFPR. Nobody in my position needs an EBC?
For me, right now, every time I go for a drive, I need 12psi. No more and no less. My MBC gives me that every time I ask it to. No switches, no maps, no dials... just apply throttle as needed. When I go MS, it'll be a different story.

I've never been the conservative type....but you guys all know that.
Why upgrade your upgrade later? Leave headroom, over engineer and make it look good

If you really think an EBC works as well as an MBC you don't know how a "quality" EBC works. EBCs are convenient but offer no performance advantage over an MBC, in fact the MBC has an advantage. Whether it's measurable in every case is beside the point, physics dictates that a spring valve set to a certain pressure will work better than any sort of bleeder/stepping motor system. Period. I don't really care. It's personal preference. If someone wants to spend up to 40x what an MBC costs just so they don't have to get out of their car when they change their boost, that's fine by me. But don't say it's superior or that MBCs aren't serious because that's crap.
