MSD ignition boost retard on 2nd gen Miatas

I know the recommended years are 90-97 but I was wondering if anyone has tried it on a newer Miata or has anyone seen an updated one out?

The MSD box relies on a normal optical CAS signal, the 99+ miatas use a Hal sensor.
