Default my custom manifold

ok this is my first post and my first turbo mx5 so here is the manifold i made yesterday its all out of 3mm steam pipe i welcome your comments (not that im gonna change it) but i would like to know what you all think

i have mounted the turbo high and out from the no2 cilinder, so have added some extra length to the front two pipes to try to keep them evenish i have gone with a 4-2-1 setup with it

wow, that's really nice!

I wonder what material that steam pipe is. I'm sure it can handle the creep you'd see at high temps...but worth checking into. If it's made for lower pressures(relative to steam, not turbo charging), then at that thickness you may eventually get cracks.

How far back does that put the turbo? Are you going to have room to put a downpipe on the turbo without having issues of running into the firewall? Or am I looking at the piece as its supposed to go and you are running no power steering and it puts the turbo forward?

If I am looking at the flange right he has it so it pushes the turbo into were the P/S was.

It looks like he merged 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 instead of doing the normal 1 & 4 and 2 & 3. Don't really seen any real reason to do it that way.

Either way.. more photos

I think it's a long angle on the photo, and he's probably just a couple of inches forward of a standard cast mani with the flange centered between 2 and 3.

I might be a little high to put up there though with the slope of the hood, and he surely won't have PS. Making a 3" DP would be easier though.

that's why it looked odd.. But actually the way it merges, it might not be a bad design as is....

Yea well without seen other post I am assuming that based on the angle and him talking about going 4-2-1.

1&2 merge with 3&4...it's obvious by the pic.
Flange appears to be in front of 1&2 and too high up for annything bigger than maybe the greddy if you plan on having a hood.
Needz moar pics!!! Installed if possible.

come on guys i need my beauty sleep

i will be using a t25 turbo i am still running my PS but no ac
my intercooler pipe will go down behind the ps pump (pretty tight bend)
there is plenty of room behind the turbo for the down pipe i will be using 2.5 inch for that

braineack is correct with his diagrams i have never seen a manifold like this before so i too will be interested in how it goes
