My Ebay Build
This is my ebay build. Basically as cheap and reliable as i could make it. Its a 1990 miata 1.6l with a ebay t3 turbo kit. Megasquirt plug and play 2, ebay stage 2 clutch, rx8 injectors, used 1.8l open dif from ebay (hopefully will weld the dif sooner or later. Dyno tuned at 250hp turned down to 220. (My phone died right before i could take picture of dyno graph.) Upgraded pads. Greddy type s Bov, and a turbosmart boost controller Now i know there will be ebay haters on this forum saying how my clutch and turbo will fail.
This pic is old, now have upgraded Wastegate actuator, and a catch can off the valve cover
Iv put 30k miles on this setup and the car never broke down on me. I've driven it to ocean city MD 4 times now and i live in PA so its a 4 hour drive. I've never had any clutch slipping issues on my ebay clutch and I've done so many burnouts, including 20+ burnouts at h2oi. At one point i had 245 slicks on racing one night and i was surprised to find my clutch, dif, and tranny all help up to a 4500 rpm launch on them slicks.
This post is just here to say you don't need a ton of money to have fun with your miata. I have 3 grand total in the car. That's including the price of the car at 1800 dollars. Just go out experiment and have fun. You live and you learn. I don't have a lot of money and i got to beat a older Porsche cameron with my poor man's Porsche. I really don't think ill ever get rid of this car and i have a 400hp set up on the way!
