My first turbo car '90 Miata finished today :)

My introduction post to the forum... I'm Ryan from Salem Oregon. Got my 90 Miata with 195,000 miles on the stock 1.6 as far as I know in October of last year. I ordered most of the parts back in December, ebay dp and manifold, mitsu t25 turbo, ebay charge pipes, 4lb wastegate actuator, ebay intercooler, etc. It's my daily at the moment. I kinda regret not going with megasquirt and taking the rrfpr and retarded timing route. Hopefully she lasts at least a few months. I have a crx that I could switch insurance to so no worries, this is my drift car. Got everything finished today finally and boost is a lot of fun. The sounds are great and she's a bit faster than stock.. plus the standstill burnouts are great ;) I don't have any pics of the engine bay yet but here are some pictures of the car at Pat's Acres in Canby Oregon.https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1362453603

Uh oh...
I can see this is gonna go over well already. |
Another day, another bad decision.
|
Would read again.
|
oooo, a DRIFT car.
DORIFTOOOOOOOOOO!!! How much camber do you have on your rear wheels? |
Camber?? Is that when you stretch a 195 tire on a 10" wide rim?
|
You guys are all ass holes, I'm going back to roadsterdrift lol. But really, I'll probably buy megasquirt in the next 6 weeks. Right now I'm not any worse than all the guys running basic begi or garrett kits. 93 octane, base timing retarded 2 degrees, and an intercooler.
|
The 2 degrees doesn't matter...it's just the fact that it's retarded.
|
You're better off staying on roadsterd0r1fto or whatever it is.
You see, here on MT we hold people to a certain standard of non-retardation. You are well below said standard, so this place is not for you. Good day sir. |
im glad i cant see hte pictures.
the content/quality control police are on the lookout. |

I'm not saying it's a high quality manifold and downpipe but I'm running better engine management than a greddy kit. I never said the shitty manifold wasn't going to crack. I know that will happen eventually. Anyone have anything nice to say or at least some constructive criticism?

You're not running any sort of engine management at all. I fail to see how that's better than a Greddy kit. I do have something nice to say, though. I like your radiator. It's very..... stock. |
Are you drifting on a stock 1.6 diff?
Get some proper fuel/spark mgmt and supporting mods and you'll be fine. You're only a little bit of $ away from a proper setup. |

A greddy kit comes without an intercooler. As I said before... 4psi with 93 octane, 1.8 injectors, rrfpr, an intercooler, and retarded timing shouldn't cause any problems on a B6.
