I posted this link in Phil's WTB thread a while back: eBay Motors: T28 Turbo Turbocharger Civic S13 S14 Internal Wastegate (item 120377834809 end time Feb-18-09 17:55:29 PST)

I would've bought it.

Their feedback sucks. Looks like they don't know how to package an intercooler for shipping. Several people bitching about damaged IC received, or wrong one. But hey it's a drifttturbo so it must be good.

Man for 300 bucks... So in theory I could just pull the old 2560 off my FMII setup and stick this in its place, correct?

you'd end up with a smaller turbo.

The turbo in the link is a T28. A T28 is defined as T25 turbine with a T3 compressor wheel; T25 + T3 = T28

Your 2560 is technically a T28, but the new naming convention with the BB turbos follows a different pattern. The old turbos on the FM and BEGi kits were labeled as T28s if journal bearing, but share the exact specs as a new GT2560, minus the ball bearings.

A Ball Bearing GT2560 is a T25 turbine wheel and a 60 trim T3 compressor wheel.

The eBay turbo in the link is a T25 turbine, journal bearing, and only a 50 trim T3 compressor wheel. So it's more or less in between a 2554 and 2560...

I am guessing it will.

I've heard horror stories of these going and then sending shrapnel down the tubes into the engine...

Well, I did a lot of research prior to ordering my pos and this is pretty much what I came up with.

Will it last as long as an oem or namebrand turbo, hell no. Will ALL of them blow up, no. It seems like the guys trying to run higher boost(ie above 12 or so) seem to run into problems with balancing. Otherwise though, guys trying to run ***** amounts of boost(IE me) should be fine. We will see though. If you see a "I need a new motor thread" then yeah...

There are only a handful of people on this board who actually has any actual experience with chinachargers, everything is mainly heresay.

Personally, I DO have experience with a chinacharger (although not that specific one) and from what I have seen, there is nothing wrong with it. For that price, I say go for it and stop listening to a bunch of "I heard......"

It's the same specs as the first one posted. 60mm compressor, 42mm inducer. 42^2 / 60^2 = 50 trim

I wouldn't run a .86 A/R T25 turbine housing myself.

I suppose you could call this a china charger. Bought it last week $598 New Zealand dollars.
Specs:
Compressor side
Inlet 60mm, outlet 50mm, 56-trim compressor;
inducer 45mm, exducer 60mm
Exhaust side
0.49 A/R turbine housing, turbine wheel outlet 46mm,
outer diameter 53mm

0.64 a/r turbine housing is available for $75.

There are larger ones available.
But you're not gona like the name of the website!
www.*****sideracing.com
Should be on in the next 2 months, will give feedback.

So i dont get what the differences are between these and the ones that BEGI are going to sell. If they are that bad, I couldnt see why in the world BEGI would take such a liabilty with selling these only for some to grenade a few motors

Jared; you have to take into account the fact that BEGI is doing its due dilligence and I'm sure they'll be using only 1 supplier they trust while, if you buy one from a vendor you don't know, you're the one taking the risk.

I guess I can look at it in a similar fashion to all of the aluminum race radiators on egay. It seems like the godspeeds and others like it are basically the same thing as the cheap *** ones that Cxracing sells. To me Rafa, is like saying, i only trust this cow manure from this farm. In the end, its all still **** isnt it?

Meh, it's like saying eating at taco bell and saying you've had authentic mexican cuisine. You know, it's all the same? Not really the case.

I have seen wayyyyyy wayyy WAYYYYY (cannot stress this enough) to many chineese parts fail from lack of give-a-****. Every form of failure possible, be it design, material selection, manufacturing processes, machining, quality control, and everything else possibly imaginable.Their main goal is cheap, everything else, second. I could list a thousand examples. I've listed a few before in another thread. But in my mind, most cheap chinese things are junk. They don't build to parts to be the best. They build them to be the cheapest to sell and make money. Sure, there are exceptions to everything, but the majority of the products coming out of china are junk. Whether or not any particular brand chinese turbo happens to be truely well designed (copied), made of quality materials that are suitable for the given application, machined well and to specs, maintaining correct surface finishes and clearances throughout, assembled properly and balance is anyones guess.

I'd pimp it. If it does grenade then the IC will ingest the parts spewed from the turbo. It isn't likely that they would make it through there and into the motor.

If I was you guys I'd buy brand names. In the long run you will be better off with a garrett than with that china charger.
