My turbo setup (Bottom mount t25)
I guess Ill go ahead and start my turbo build thread. Im planning on running a gt2554r to start off with and upgrade to a gt2560 later. My car is a 1.6 with everything upgraded but boost. Torsen, 6puck, coilovers, cage....
I decided to go with a bottom mount manifold for my setup. Having no ac or ps makes things easier :giggle: Everything was made by ARTech formally called Sprayed on the forum. Umm nice build but you still have an AC compressor hanging on your motor... If your AC doesnt work. Dump that Junk, Time to go light weight...

next up will be redoing the lower radiator line. Ill be using a modified lower water outlet. Remember the ac and ps junk wont be on finished setup.

I have no idea why I haven't flipped my welded mixing manifold and ran a flex pipe to the radiator. I'd be able to ditch that heavy connecting pipe, and the two bolts it's held on with! Anybody know the part number or make/model/year for a hose that'll fit from a flipped MM to the radiator? If you'd like to get rid of that steel pipe, I pulled it out with vise grips, and drilled and tapped the hole for 1/8" NPT. You can put a plug in it, than a hose barb for turbo water return in the future.
Edit: NM, you already have a water cooled turbo. Could still drill and tap for an AN fitting opposed to the standard slip-joint-with-hose-clamp method. |

Tim, I wouldn't say that. Your work is very nice, too. I'm in North Dallas. The manifold and downpipe were each $250. He got a great deal on the down pipe, because I had extra piping laying around. The next SSDP won't be as cheap. There's a lot of time and materials that go into one.

SS runners with mild flanges :fawk: keeps the warping (and price) to a minumum.

That set-up looks really good, I wish I could hear it in person once you get it running. For now I have to satisfy myself with hearing mine.

What were the results of you removing the evap. canister on the passenger side of the car normally located near the headlight. Has it effected idle, or anything else for that matter. Did you loop the lines together, and just delete the canister? |

Hmm...I never considered reusing that pipe. I assumed you'd get rid of it and route the heater hose under the intake manifold. I guess if it clears the compressor it's fine.

Its coming along. Ive been held up because my local welder wasnt doing any work over the holidays. I had to weld a cast elbow on my compressor housing so thats been a hold up. The intercooler setup is pretty much all done though. Ill post some new pics tommorow prolly.

I wish you didnt run the heater return to the upper hose...good luck with warm up.

ya about the warm up... it really doesnt happen hahaha. Luckily this car doesnt get driven daily. If things are too bad, Ill figure something out

ARTech has some mad welding skills. Mad props to the homie. Wastegate dump looks sexy, it would look even sexier if it was made to route back into the downpipe. slutz4 are you concerned with the loudness of the WG dump? Its going to be a track car by the looks of it. Looks like a really nice setup all together :bigtu:

I have almost the exact same exhaust although it's ugly 2.5 mild steel and I have a cat. It's track only loud, but drivable on the street, you just feel like an ass.

straitpipe with a turn down isnt so bad. i have been driving like that for bout 6 months now! :bigtu: its not as loud as i thought it would be! its deff not as loud as most rice burning b-series civics running around......

Around here police don't really care about noise. Only once. My friend with a FC got bitched at by a enthusiast cop. He was like, "I'm embarrassed for motorsports when you drive this car on the street. Go to a real track like Sebring! If I ever see this car again I'll ticket you for everything." There are way to many loud redneck trucks, hondas, and bikes out here for them to worry. So I rock the 3" all day.

Ive know people to run around with 2 foot long open downpipes, now thats way too loud.
but if youre getting it out kinda out of the back of the car its not too bad, except for maybe a daily driver. |

Getting alot closer to starting this thing. I got my megasquirt pnp finally, turbo is all clocked and ready, hotside pipe done, and wastegate actuator bracket figured out. It took me a long as time to figure out how to mount the wastegate then my uncle suggested an exhaust clamp lol. It should work pretty well. I also made a dual feed fuel rail because I was bored.

Sick. Does the downpipe end there?

downpipe is about normal length, you can see where the flange is for exhaust dump on that pic.
Basically that dump bolts straight to the downpipe. |
