Default NA/NB DP compatibility

Hey guys,

Does anyone have info on what it takes to have an NA downpipe bolt on to an NB chassis at the factory location to the mid-pipe? Has anyone converted one or modified one to fit?

Are the NA log manifolds compatible with the NB chassis?

Thanks for any info.

No it can't, I'm not a hundred precent sure but I believe its only 94-95 miatas that will accept the 1.6L down pipe. I know this because when I put a 1.8 in my 92 I needed to get a 94-95 exhaust manifold that was only different by the downpipe flange.

An NA 1.8L log manifold will fit an NB 1.8L head (same bolt pattern), however, the EGR locations are in different spots on the manifold.

And I think the downpipe can fit as well as far as clearance, but it's a matter of the difference in dimensions and specs on the cat and flange. Not sure what it would take to fit there.
