^^^ What he said. You may think it's a 5 minute swap, but aftermarket injectors actually weld themselves to the intake the first time they're installed.

Yeah, I was planning on a Megasquirt with injectors

I have almost 30k into my 1.6 turbo and I'm only now just pushing stock block limits.

How big are you?
My kids is 6-5" pretty much 250 pounds...he fits in his NB.
He fit the NB better than the NA...fwiw

The problem here is you can not see the financial forest for the trees and you have no idea how much money this is going to cost.
By the time the car is built you will have everything done with a POS 1.6 under the hood. Are you going to build that POS?

Selling the car will save you $5,000-7000.00 by the time you factor in a 6 speed, better engine, better brakes, rear end...bla bla bla.
Given a used 1.6 turbo and a 1.8 turbo...Only an idiot would purchase the 1.6
Then you loose more money

Interesting, I'm 6'2 230lbs. Given I've never sat in an NB before either. And the way my car sits at this moment I might be able to get $3k for it, at the most. Paint is terrible, but at least it's rust free. And I also have a roll bar recently installed and with the money I've already put in it, I didn't think it would be very smart of me to sell it now. But I'll keep a lookout for any NB Miatas that pop up near me that have a few of the same things done to them as mine.

So how do you know you can't fit in an NB without ever sitting in one?

You do realize the NA and NB tubs are nearly identical right? Biggest difference is the seats and the door cards and you can swap those between generations easily.

Well, I do now. I think at this point I might just cut my losses and sell my Mia.

Well at this point it seems like the general consensus is to sell my car because a good running 1.6 is everyrhing bad and nothing good, so it should never even be bothered with. I'm selling my car now I'll see if anyone wants this spawn on Satan piece of garbage.

A 1.6 car has it's place, it's a great little car to bomb around the back roads with and generally abuse daily. R second Motorsports is considered it is everything bad about a Miata without much of the good. It's just hard to justify starting down 25hp and needing to swap the brakes and rear axle.

Right, just seems like I'm going to have one hell of a time trying to sell it

Trying to sell it for 4k on a site dedicated to Motorsports will be hard. Selling it for 2k to 3k locally to someone who just wants to let their hair down on the weekends should be easy.
