Hello everyone, I did an extensive search and couldn't find any useful info on where I might find a Miata Head Flange. I am making my own Turbo Manifold and have yet to find a source for the head flange for a second gen 1.8 miata engine. Thanks in advance, any and all helpful info is greatly appreciated.

if the head flanges are the same for all BPs you could get an escort gt header manifold and cut the pipes off it to use the flange... thats what im using and ive had no problems so far.

 

You could also find a chunk of metal somewhere on the side of the road and cut out the holes and ports with a dremel. It all depends on how much your time is worth.

 

Dragging this back up to see if anyone knows a source for a pre-cut head flange for a 1.6L? Tim, do you make one?

 

If you have a cad drawing of it I could get some made.

 

JGS Precision Turbo sells BP and B6 flanges. The ones in the previous post look nicer, FWIW

 

Sorry, I meant to include I'm looking for stainless (SS304 specifically), I found the mild steel ones at JGS Precision.

And if I had all the dimensions, I could get one cut too... was looking to save the trouble of measuring it all up...

 

No sorry, I don't.

 

I'd always use mild steel. I've found stainless usually warps and you have to get the manifold decked to get it to seal to the head.

 

vibrant also sells head flanges for 1.6s and 1.8s.

 

you can "deck" a manifold with a large industrial belt sander with the proper belt for metal. not a home handheld belt sander PS.

any shop should be able to do this cheaply.


Its more of the fact that when the manifold gets red from driving, and then cools down again it will warp more than steel.
