^^ when the exhaust pulse from the cylinder hits the collector, a negative wave will be transmitted back and help with extraction (on a n/a car, this will make great difference) on a turbo car, it will merely help a little with spool, so it is not very important, the shaping of the collector does matter a lot more. As soon as you start to build boost (and backpressure) the negative wave becomes irrelevant. Anyway, the trick is to get the wave to hit the exhaust valve at the right moment, just before closing. I was just wondering really, being interrested in this ****

oh yeah, equal lenght is about the same, matters when there is a lot of pulsing (before spool), matters a lot less when backpressure hits.

How did you measure to try and get an equal length? Can't wait for the updates.

actually it will not be a equal length manifold it is hopefully just going to be a better flowing one. that is my main desired outcome. i'll keep the pictures coming and of course some vids when done.

this is how far I got till now it is starting to look like a real manifold now. i'll keep updating as i go. hopefully it is looking good. still got to finish up the welding on the collector but it will sit in this position.

P.S and yes the turbo is going to be clocked down. hood won't close if i leave it.

enjoy

For best flow you would need to rework that collector, you flow well through the runners, just to.... hit the wall. You will get a lot of turbulence. Hard to say if it will be an improvement over the log type. Only way to know is to test

the welds look real good, i like

overall good work

now cut some relieves in that flange and have it trued, ceramic coat it, and boost away

i think you'll be able to fit the WG right at the collector and have room for the dump tube...that should be good

Great work!

Hmmm, looks like the turbo is sitting kinda high. Is that the final position? If so, will you be able to close the hood without modification?

lol the hood has been through couple modifications . the turbo does not hit it there is maybe half an inch of room. well it is done today and drove the damn thing around all i can say is
WOW. what a difference between the log style and this thing. i mean the response is stupid good. i will post some pictures tomorrow but man it was worth the time.
no more boost issues i set it at 11 and it stays at 11. i believe the collector helps a lot. i could not get out of the damn car drove around for 3 hrs but gas prices are pretty high so i had to cool off a bit. if you know what i mean.
pics are on the way.
