Default New sound from turbo?

It's not bad (I don't think), but I'm am concerned/confused.
I was driving home, and I noticed that the turbo is higher pitched than normal when it's spooling, kind of like a louder whistle than normal is the best way I can explain it. And I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to be spooling a little faster/easier, which I'm not complaining about since it's producing nice and strong boost, but this is sudden. Didn't sound like that on my previous drive tonight.
No metal on metal or scraping sounds either. I didn't get a chance to take the filter pipe off and check the turbine for any odd play since it started pissing rain the second I got home, so I'm just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Everything is tight on the exhaust. I checked it tonight when I changed my oil at work since I'm still making sure that everything is in good shape after installing the new DP.
And the intake side should be good after I went through and checked things after the IC pipe coming off the compressor blew off on me a week ago (my buddy that helped me install the DP didn't tighten it enough after we got everything back together, and I didn't check it until it blew). And as I said, boost is strong and solid.

I had a high pitched noise and it was a leak at an IC pipe joint. Just a tiny leak and it was apparent until over 8psi. All it took was torquing down one tbolt clamp at a junction that had previously blown off.

If it's a small leak the turbo won't have an issue making up for it, but you'll be over spinning the turbo for your target boost.

Well, I'll just check everything again today after work and see where that gets me.
Thanks!

Are you sure it's not just the better downpipe? A bigger one will make your turbo a little louder (at least mine did) and cause faster spool.

If you have strong boost holding where it should be I would suspect the down pipe because you just replaced it. Have you checked all the way around for a warped flange or something? Are you running gaskets? Could be a cut gasket or something.

Sounds like a boost leak.

Evidently it was one of the couplers between the turbo and the IC. Took everything down and put it back together making sure everything was straight and even, and the sound from the turbo is completely back to normal!
Thanks!

Congratulations! lol

The new downpipe is very awesome! Made an extremely noticable difference. I'm very pleased with it, although I'm in the middle of working out some changes with BEGi since it has some issues, but they are handling it very well for me.

I'd like to see your car sometime. I hear nothing but impressive things about it!

Like the size of the oil puddles it makes? :gay:
My goal is to get the car prepared for a spring dyno day which has yet to be scheduled.
