Default O2 clamp question

Does an O2 clamp do the same thing as an O2 simulator? I just keep seeing the O2 clamp and dont really know what it does so I figured I would ask.

no, it interrupts the o2 signal to "trick" the ECU that it's running stoich, when in fact you're running rich. This prevents it from pulling the fuel you are adding in, making the transition into boost and half-throttle cruise smooth.

Most people refer to an O2 simulator as the unit that takes the place of the O2 sensor after the cat when the cat is replaced or removed so that you don't get a CEL or stored code.
