Default OD or ID

After a long break dealing with OTM transmission issues and some house repairs, I'm finally back to work on my turbo install.

I ordered some 2" intercooler piping and it came in today. In my mind, I was expecting it to be 2" ID, but it is actually 2" OD. Maybe it is just me, but I thought pipe was measured ID not OD?

When you guys say you are using 2" or 2.5" intercooler piping, are you talking ID or OD?

Thanks!

Should be OD. Couplers are measured ID. T-bolt clamps need to be sized .25" large to fit over the OD of the coupler.

You constradict yourself here. You said you bought tubing then later refer to pipe. All tubing is measured in OD, pipe is measure ID. Wall thickness will vary according to what kind of tubing/pipe you're using.
When they say 2 and 2.5" IC piping they mean OD.
