OK place to dump my EWG?

I was working on my car today for once, and I am almost ready to fire it up. I need to dump my EWG somewhere. I am getting impatient and looking for an easy spot, and I found that it would be cake to dump it right into my turbine outlet. The photo is where I'd put it, I didn't cut out my outlet yet, or weld anything. I'm wondering if this would cause any issues as far as exhaust flow or turbulence.
What says MT.net? Attachment 90575 |
Well thats about the least optimal for power and wastegate performance, you might as well use an internal wastegate. It should work through.

I assume running it to the DP is the better option...
I could make it even easier and vta. |
Turn it 180 degrees and vent to atmosphere through your hood, duh.
|
I thought about that, and I was gonna put a flapper on it. I think I'll keep it stealth though and keep it going under the car.
Seriousness, vta I think it is. I'm just concerned about noise, basically just an annoying factor. |
I dont think it'lo be to bad. I've wanted to do it since I watched underdogs video with his vta.

Didn't Savington have issues with his dump tube when he VTA with it cracking?
|
vta will make most power. Make sure its braced though or that the tube us uber short or it will lead to cracking. if you're going to re-introduce into exhaust stream you want to do it way lower on the dp, like about a foot down from where the picture shows, and make it a smooth transition back in

I read Turbo Tim saying he stopped doing VTA because of cracked dump tubes. But I'm sure there's lots of people who have.
|
Vta it is.
I'm gonna brace it...no cracks for me. Looks like I need to order more tubing. This car ran out of inspection in March. I took it apart like 3 weeks before it ran out and I said "it'll be back on the road in a few weeks, then I'll get it inspected. Lol. That turned into machining parts for it, fabbing/ welding shit up, getting new shocks and wheels, installing door bars. I'm estimating I'm about 2 weeks away from taking her off the jack stands. I'm a little behind schedule....if you consider a few months is a little. |
VTA. Boss shit.
|
I love how thirdgen works: three examples of people cracking their vta ewgs, so he decides that the best choice.
